Massachusetts Turnpike Authority officials unsealed bids yesterday for the surface restoration effort around Fort Point Channel. The Fort Point Channel area is one of the final available contracts for the Central Artery/Tunnel Project, and engineers expected it to cost $12.5 million. McCourt Construction of Boston offered the lowest of the six bids, coming in at $3.5 million less than projected costs. The plans call for the construction of walkways, landscaping, parks, and seawall reconstruction.
