Boston College Alumni Stadium Reconstruction
Boston, MA

McCourt was chosen to reconstruct the field turf in Alumni Stadium, the 45,000-seat home of the Division 1A Boston College Eagles football team. All of this work was required to be performed during the three months after graduation ceremonies and prior to fall football practice beginning.
The work on this project included: removing and recycling of the existing field turf; removing the existing subbase; upgrading and repairing the existing drainage system; placing a new gravel subbase; installing a shock absorbant drainage layer (Brock Pad) as well as installing the field turf (supplied by Astroturf). The field turf was fully assembled in a factory prior to delivery to confirm marking layout and proper dimensions.
In addition to the field turf work, the stadium wall panels were removed and replaced with new RFGC brick panels to improve the appearance of the stadium and entrances. In order to avoid impacting commencement and the start of the football season all of this work was completed in a 3 month span.
